Members of the Society for the Preservation of Poultry Antiquities have inspired me and taught me about chickens. They are the gentlemen and women of poultry keeping. They are unceasingly generous with their time and always willing to share their knowledge. Everyone with an interest in chickens will benefit by joining SPPA.
SPPA is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization. Its mission is to protect and preserve, for historical, educational and recreational purposes and in the public interest, standard-bred domesticated poultry, waterfowl, turkeys and guineas.
SPPA was established in 1967 by Neil Jones. Several of the original founding members continue to advise and guide SPPA, such as Loyl Stromberg and Duane Urch.
SPPA's nonprofit status makes your donation above membership tax deductible. Contact me through the site for information on including SPPA in your estate planning. Leave a legacy to the future.

Membership includes the quarterly Bulletin, the liveliest writing on poultry in print, and the Breeders Directory. The Breeders Directory lists SPPA members, what they are raising and how to contact them to acquire stock. It's an invaluable reference for small flock owners.
